The 3.5% interest rate is HUGE compared to my current rate of .1% at Wachovia. .1% is the average APR for most savings accounts.

To compare:

$1,000 at .1% will earn exactly $1 over the coures of 12 months. In 10 years, that $1,000 at .1% APR will be $1,010.05

$1,000 at 3.5% compounded monthly earns $35.57 over the course of 12 months. In 10 years, that same $1,000 but with 3.5% APR will be $1418.34.

Earnings at 3.5% are roughly 41 times as large as that at .1%.

Double Your Groceries for Half the Money

If you're looking for a way to save some money on groceries visit www.grocerygame.com. There is a minimal membership fee but it's well worth the weekly savings in groceries.

My wife is in charge of the groceries for our family and she has been saving money through The Grocery Game for over a year now.

When you play, you'll get a weekly list (called Teri's List) of the
lowest-priced products at your supermarket matched with manufacturers' coupons
and weekly specials -- advertised and unadvertised. The Grocery Game does all
the hard work and research, and presents it to you in a straightforward format.

- grocerygame.com

Visit grocerygame.com to see what it's all about. Most recently our latest grocery shop was full price $156.78 at Publix and we walked out spending $91.05. We follow "Terri's List" and purchase exactly what and when she puts it on her list.

The only downside is the time it takes to cut the coupons but to save $50, $60, $70 a week it's worth spending an hour with the scissors.
